June 23 – Demo Day at the Back Room Gallery
10 am-6 pm, 4749 Wyandotte East.

June 23, 10 am – 6 pm, you are warmly invited to stop by the Back Room Gallery and meet and greet some of the artists in the co-op, watch us demonstrate our craft and talk with us about the range of our work. Enjoy free demonstrations, and participate in inexpensive workshops with take-away crafts, including one of felt flowers. Learn how to make an earring and see a digital mandala be created.

You may even be moved to place an order for something totally unique made just for you.  You can design a piece of jewellery and have it make for you (prices vary), order a made-to-measure hat, or order any one of 100+ mandala designs and have it printed while you wait.($20)

The demonstrations are free, as are the light refreshments. Workshops with take-away items might have a small fee applied or a free-will donation requested to help cover the cost of materials.

Participating artists include Kathryn Tisdale, Chris Ford, Lori Moore (The Gilded Lily) and others TBA

July 1    Art in the Park at the Cove – Sunday 10-5

Cove Marina, Lighthouse Cove    This Canada Day, enjoy an outdoor event of the Back Room Gallery Artists’ Co-op — with individual booths set up on the grassy picnic area lining the canal at Cove Marina, 470 Tisdelle Drive, Lighthouse Cove.

Cove marina are our generous sponsors for this event, so be sure to support them, too, and enjoy their breakfast buffet only $7.99 in the restaurant after 9am.

Participating artists include Donna Book, Bev Fish, Chris Ford, Christine Gold, Cheryl Carlin, Christy Litster, Lori Moore, Kathryn Tisdale,  Albin Kristy, Susan Duxter, Margaret Dawson, Ken Friesen, Sue Rumball and many more TBA

We did this for the first year last year, and it was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere in a pleasant setting. Unfortunately, it was also 45 degrees C (that’s 114F!!).  This year, we’re anticipating gorgeous weather, so join us.  For driving directions, click ‘view larger map’ below the following image.

July 29 and Aug 26 –  Heart of Harrow Art Walk 4-9pm Downtown Harrow

This is a novel idea for a funky, relaxed outdoor show.  Exhibitors will only be using blankets – no tents or furniture of any kind. The show won’t have anything that isn’t original art, and will run for just a few hours on a summer Sunday’s evening.  Lovely idea.

Participating artists – Lori Moore and (tentatively) Kathryn Tisdale and TBA.

August 4    Erieau Art on the Boulevard 9am – 4 pm    Erieau, Ontario.

This event attracts large, friendly crowds and a lot of artists and is a favourite show for us.

Erieau is a lovely, relaxed and friendly community with a wide green boulevard that invites strolling — and cool, fresh lake breezes to keep artists and visitors cool.  Everyone will have a great day.

Participating co-op artists include Chris Ford, Nicola Ferguson, Albin Kristy, Christine Gold and Kathryn Tisdale   http://artontheboulevard.ca/

The boulevard in Erieau just requires strolling.

August 6, 2012    MILK Coffee Bar Group Show for month of August. Theme TBA

This will be the Back Room Gallery Co-ops 3rd show at Milk Coffee Bar – what has become a favourite venue with us.  Milk Coffee Bar customers just seem to get us  and it’s proven to be excellent exposure.

Themes and participating artists are TBA

August -25    Art in the Lakeside Park Saturday 10 am – 5 pm    Kingsville

Lakeside park is right on the shores of Lake Erie and boasts some huge, gorgeous trees to shade visitors and exhibitors alike. It has easy access parking and a large, flat, treeed area for the show. I was there last year for its first year and am looking forward to seeing how much it grows this year.  I know the buzz has already started.  Artists, music, food.

Participating co-op artists include: Kathryn Tisdale, Lori Moore, Heather Teahan and more TBA
