Chris Ford

‘A different View’

Chris Ford, a Blenheim native, has had the opportunity to live in many exciting cities, which has helped her see life and her art with a slightly different eye.  She is a self-taught photographer, mixed media artist and jewellery sculptor.

Chris, who believes in promoting artists and helping them to fulfill their dreams, has founded Art in the Park (Morpeth and Ridgetown) and assisted in many others. She also founded the Arts Enhancement Association, Renaissance Art Gallery, and has sat on several committees in the areas of Arts, Heritage and Economic Development for the Chatham-Kent.

A history of shows in London, Windsor, Niagara and Goderich has given Chris many experiences to pass along. Utilizing her Social Work background, she knows how to combine art and heart for its best intensity.

The mentor role stretches to creative writing. While Chris was the President of the Kent Poetry Guild, she encouraged young writers to join and helped in publishing some of their work. Chris has been published as a photojournalist, poet and photographer in several books, doing the covers of two fast-selling poetical journeys.

Chris has been honored with nominations for Poet of the Year, Woman of Excellence and shows dynamic entrepreneurial skills in the developing art-based businesses. Presently, Chris has a retail space for her own line of Jewellery as well as founder of The Wyandotte St E Artists’ Co-op and gallery, The Back Room.

Chris’ Photo-Sculpting (hand altered original photos taken over a 35 year span) is used to draw you into her world of angles and architecture, gardens and altered beauty.
